The price to include the second item is over $400/year but I feel like they would almost cover the same thing, obviously when I ask they encourage me to have both so it's not really helpful to ask them.
#USAA HOME PROTECTOR CODE#
The other is something the state requires for the policy to be issued but can later be dropped after I sign some paperwork which is Florida Building Code and Ordinance which from what I understand protects me from increased costs due to changed building codes. One is the "Home Protector" which is essentially a 25% "cushion" over the estimated rebuild value of the home (240k) which protects me from inflated costs, permit costs rising, and changes in building code, this is optional. State Farm is currently the largest home insurance company in the country, and it’s also the largest auto insurer in North America. One thing I am confused on is that USAA offers two things that seem like the same thing and not sure if I need both or one is better than the other or I'm getting double coverage. Seems like better coverage for a cheaper rate and my current agency dosent like to answer or return my calls while I'm trying to renew with them so I don't want to see what it would be like if I had a claim. USAA home insurance discounts can include: Bundle and save discount of as much as 10 on USAA home insurance when you have an auto insurance policy with USAA. I'm in the process of switching from my current homeowners insurance to USAA.
